On Tuesday, Kenya's Rising Stars faced off against Tanzania in their second match of the ongoing CECAFA U-20 Championships, held at the FUFA Technical Center in Jinja, Uganda. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Austine Odhiambo, an AFC Leopards forward, opened the scoring for Kenya in the 26th minute. However, Tanzanian forward Andrew Simchimba replied in the 37th minute, leveling the match at 1-1 by halftime.
Upon resumption, Patrick Otieno restored Kenya's lead in the 53rd minute, but Tanzanian forward Abdul Hamis equalized just three minutes later, securing a 2-2 draw for Tanzania.
Kenya still tops Group B with four points, while Tanzania remains second with the same number of points but an inferior goal difference.
The Rising Stars kicked off the CECAFA campaign with a 5-0 win over Zanzibar, while Tanzania defeated Ethiopia 4-0 in their opener.
Up next for the Rising Stars is a match against Ethiopia on Thursday, September 26, at the FUFA Technical Center, starting at 4 pm.
