Xiaomi Unveils Mi Mix Alpha: A Phone with an All-Screen Body and 108MP Camera ¶

Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Mix Alpha, a concept phone that boasts an all-screen body and a 108MP camera. The phone is set to go on sale in December, with a price tag of around $2800.
The Mi Mix Alpha features a 180% screen-to-body ratio, with the display extending from the rear camera bump all the way around to the camera bump. This design eliminates the need for a selfie camera, as users can simply use the rear shooters.
The phone's camera setup is also noteworthy, featuring a 108MP lens co-developed with Samsung. This lens is capable of producing 27MP photos by combining pixels, making it ideal for low-light photography.
In addition to the 108MP lens, the Mi Mix Alpha also features a 12MP telephoto lens and a 20MP ultra-wide lens. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 855+ processor, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It also features a 4050mAh battery with 40W fast charging.
While the Mi Mix Alpha may seem like a futuristic concept, it's not entirely new. The original Xiaomi Mi Mix was also a concept device that eventually made its way to the mainstream with the Mi Mix 2. It's possible that Xiaomi is testing the waters with the Mi Mix Alpha before releasing a more affordable and widely available version.
Other phone manufacturers, such as Huawei and Vivo, have also released phones with curved designs, but the Mi Mix Alpha takes it to a whole new level. The phone's pressure-sensitive sides and all-screen body make it a truly unique device.
While the Mi Mix Alpha may not be for everyone, it's an exciting glimpse into the future of phone design. As technology continues to evolve, it's likely that we'll see more innovative designs and materials emerge.
