On Monday, the 2nd edition of the For Rangers Ultra-Marathon concluded at the Ol-Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia County, with over 70 runners from across the world participating in the event.

The five-stage race spanned 220km, taking the runners through Lewa, Borana, Ol Jogi, Lolldaiga, and Ol Pejeta conservancies, starting from the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy on Wednesday.

Competitors carried their own food, medical supplies, and equipment throughout the challenging race.

The For Rangers Ultra-Marathon is a unique event that supports the brave rangers who protect Africa's remaining giants and endangered wildlife species. Funds raised through the annual event directly benefit rhino conservation and ranger welfare initiatives.

World marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge paid tribute to the rangers who participated in the race, acknowledging the significant gains achieved in wildlife conservation across Kenya thanks to the vigilant and dedicated rangers.
