Published on September 24, 2019, the Kenya Taekwondo Federation (KTF) has put on hold its plans to introduce a program aimed at improving the level of taekwondo in the country.
The program, which was set to roll out in September, has been deferred to next year to allow the coaches undergo additional three months training in Nairobi.
Under the watch of about three South Korean coaches and a host of local coaches, the training will equip the local coaches with new techniques and ideas to impart to learners at school.
"We expect the roll out to take place sometimes in January next year and not this term as we had planned," said KTF Secretary General George Oyoo.
The postponement comes after Kenya's performance at the African Games in Morocco in August this year, where the country emerged eighth in Taekwondo with two silver medals and one bronze.
