It's a common phenomenon in Nairobi where young women expect to live a life of luxury without putting in the effort to achieve it.
Waithaka Muriuki, a social media user, recently shared a post that highlights the unrealistic expectations of many young Nairobi women.
According to Muriuki, many young women expect their partners to provide for them without contributing to the relationship financially or otherwise.
He argues that this expectation is unrealistic and may lead to a life of singleness and misery for these women.
"You expect me to be driving and living in a house of my own so that you can date me? Since when did I start practising magic?" Muriuki wrote in his post.
He also pointed out that many young women are quick to judge men who cannot provide for them, but they are not willing to put in the effort to achieve their goals.
"You will only get an older guy who has been struggling for the last 5-10 years. They didn't wake up one day with that wealth, they worked as hard as we all are," Muriuki wrote.
He concluded that many young women will end up single and miserable because of their unrealistic expectations.
"You will cry to society that all men are the same; all men are dogs – they just use you sexually and leave you hang to dry. But darling, you only get what you deserve," Muriuki wrote.
