Seven Pupils Die in Precious Talent Top School Tragedy ¶
On September 23, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at Precious Talent Top School in Nairobi, leaving seven pupils dead and 64 children injured.
Two of the injured pupils, who were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital, are in critical condition, having sustained head and lung injuries.
As news of the tragedy broke, concerned Kenyans took to social media to condole with the families and wish the injured pupils a quick recovery.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was in the United States at the time, sent his condolences to the families of the affected pupils.
"My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to families of the children affected by the tragedy at Precious Talent Academy in Dagoretti. Our agencies are taking urgent actions to contain the situation and alleviate further suffering." - President Kenyatta, via @StateHouseKenya
Deputy President William Ruto also expressed his condolences and wished the injured students a quick recovery.
"Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident at Precious Talent School, Nairobi County. Quick recovery to the injured. Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, termed the incident as "utterly unacceptable" and called for a full investigation into the cause of the tragedy.
