On September 23, 2019, a devastating tragedy struck Precious Talent Top school in Dagoretti constituency, leaving seven children dead and 57 others with serious injuries.

The two-storey school building collapsed at around 6:50 am as class five, six, seven, and eight pupils settled in class for their morning lessons.

Kenyan online communities have expressed outrage at the government, accusing relevant institutions of failing to secure the lives of the pupils.

They are particularly blaming officials from the Ministry of Education for failing to inspect the structures in the school, ensuring the 850 pupils were safe in their daily learning routine.

President Kenyatta's condolence message, shared by State House on Twitter, has been met with demands for action against those responsible.

Netizens have called for stern action, including the arrest of the building's owner, contractor, and those who approved the plan.

They have also questioned the effectiveness of government institutions, particularly the inspectorate in schools, in preventing such tragedies.
