On September 24, 2019, Kenya's Malkia Strikers suffered another loss at the 2019 FIVB World Cup, falling to China in their eighth match of the competition.

Despite the 25-12, 25-12, 25-14 loss, the team showed promise with youngster Sharon Chepchumba leading the attack with nine points. Leonida Kasaya and skipper Mercy Moim also contributed with seven points each.

The loss comes ahead of Kenya's ninth match against Korea on Friday.
