On September 23, 2019, a video of Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen went viral on social media, showing him in apparent pain and distress.
Murkomen, who was participating in a match between the Senate and Kitui County Assembly, was seen rolling in pain and warning first aid crew not to touch him.
According to a tweet by Murkomen, he was screaming due to the intense pain he was experiencing, with his collarbone almost protruding.
He explained that he did not want anyone to make the injury any worse.
