Denise Chogo's entrepreneurial journey began with a messy dilemma - potty training her son. The experience led her to develop a business idea for eco-friendly wet wipes that could be flushed down the toilet after use.
With a degree in Business Management - Entrepreneurship and training as a facilitator and certified auditor, Chogo was well-equipped to turn her idea into a reality.
Her son's sensitive skin had reacted to disposable wet wipes on the market, prompting Chogo to seek alternative solutions. She discovered European-made flushable and hypoallergenic wipes that were unperfumed and gentle on her son's skin.
These wipes became a multipurpose solution for Chogo and her friends, who would often ask her where she got them. This sparked the idea for her business, Caresworth Industrial and Trading Company Ltd.
Chogo's son came up with the name 'Happy Touch' for the wipes, which are flushable, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, PH balanced, and alcohol-free.
Chogo faced challenges in sourcing funding and running her business, but with professional help, she was able to navigate these obstacles.
Today, the business is in a good place, with the first batch of products moving well. Chogo is looking to introduce a new product line - softer wipes for newborn babies and people with sensitive skin.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to be patient, do their due diligence, and believe in themselves.
