Published on September 24, 2019, Alpha Blondy, known as the 'African Bob Marley,' finally redeemed himself six years after a no-show at a reggae concert in Nairobi, as part of Kenya's 50th independence celebrations.
The iconic reggae artist headlined the 27th edition of the Koroga Festival at the Two Rivers Mall, delivering a memorable two-hour performance backed by his band The Solar System.
Blondy's electrifying concert featured a mix of his hits spanning three decades, including 'Jerusalem,' 'Peace in Liberia,' 'Brigadier Sabari,' and 'Sweet Fanta Diallo,' among others.
Reggae lovers sang along to the iconic artist's performance, which was also attended by VIP guests, including Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and business tycoon Chris Kirubi.
On stage alongside Blondy were Kenyan R&B and reggae musician Wyre, dancehall king Redsan, and Timmy TDat, who performed a hit collabo of 'Atekwe.'
During his performance, Blondy preached to the crowd, emphasizing the importance of treating each other well and reminding them that only Jesus could save everyone.
