September 24, 2019, marked a significant turn of events for Nairobi pastor Godfrey Migwi, who was recently appointed as the Religion and Politics analyst in Africa at BBC News Swahili.

Just months after being pushed out of Kameme FM for his scathing criticism of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Migwi has secured a new gig that has left many in awe.

"Yes, it's a big move. I couldn't believe it when they first contacted me," Migwi said in an interview, crediting his boldness and ability to speak truth to power for landing the job.

As the founder and spiritual father at House of Hope Church Kayole, Migwi has never been one to shy away from controversy. His outspoken views on politics have often put him at odds with powerful figures, including the Kenyatta family.

Earlier in June, Migwi was fired from Kameme FM after he was filmed questioning President Uhuru's development record in Central Kenya. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for his head.

However, it seems that Migwi's boldness has finally paid off. His appointment at BBC News Swahili is a testament to his unwavering commitment to speaking truth to power, even in the face of adversity.
