Speaker Boaz Okoth formed a special committee to track budget implementation in Migori County, with a focus on various departments' usage of allocated funds.

Chaired by George Oduro, the committee has been meeting in Kisumu since last week and is expected to conclude its work this week before writing its report.

"We have already summoned all the 10 county executive committee members and asked them to shed light on negative reports by the Auditor General," said Mr Oduro.

The committee is concerned that some projects have not been completed despite being allocated millions of shillings, and is looking at all the audit reports and following up on recommendations made.

According to the county's budget, Sh8.4 billion is allocated for the 2019-20 financial year.
