On September 23, 2019, a significant quantity of bhang was destroyed in Migori County, marking a major blow to the illicit trade.
The 1,524 kilograms of bhang, valued at Ksh.15.2 million, had been presented as an exhibit in court several years prior.
Migori County Police Commander noted that much of the bhang seized in the area is often in transit from Tanzania to other parts of the country.
Despite this challenge, the police boss reiterated the county's commitment to combating bhang trafficking and appealed to locals to provide intelligence to support the efforts.
