On September 23rd, 2019, The Standard reported on the release of The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure, a virtual reality game that brings families together with innovative gameplay and VR technology.
Unlike other VR games that are often rated for older players or focus on a single main player, The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure is suitable for all ages, with the VR side of the game limited to players 12 and older.
One player dons the PlayStation VR headset to captain a submarine and target treasure, while up to three other players use the TV to solve puzzles that enable the pilot to plunge the depths.
This unique multiplayer mechanic reminded Mirror's reviewer of Overcooked, and builds on Angry Birds Isle of Pigs, which used AR and VR on a smartphone.
As players work together to get a high score on each level, they must also communicate with the VR headset-wearing captain, leading to frantic commands, confusion, and laughter.
According to Sami Ronkainen, creative director at Rovio, Angry Birds was one of the big successes when the touch screen came out, and The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure takes this further with new interactions in Augmented Reality.
With its clever touches and engaging gameplay, The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure is a great way to get families talking to each other and enjoying Virtual Reality together.
