A bizarre incident has left residents of Muteng'uri village in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, stunned. On the weekend, thieves broke into a family homestead and stole items of unknown value.

The thieves' clever plan involved pacifying the family dog with a dish of githeri, allowing them to move freely around the homestead.

According to a family member, who spoke to Hot 96, the dog was so full that it was able to bark as the thieves moved from one house to the other.

"I had just returned from church and was surprised to find the dog eating githeri. I then realized that the doors were all locked, and the thieves had taken advantage of the situation to steal our belongings," said the woman.

Area residents expressed shock at the thieves' cunning plan, which involved feeding the dog to keep it calm as they went about their business.
