The burial of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, who was to be laid to rest on Monday, September 23, 2019, has been postponed to Tuesday.
The postponement was due to a lack of enough priests, with only eight out of the required 10 showing up for the private burial ceremony at the Jewish Cemetery in Nairobi.
According to sources, the internment has been rescheduled to Tuesday at 2.30pm, when the deceased will be buried in the presence of 10 priests and a Rabbi, in line with the Jewish religion.
Earlier, a court had granted Cohen's widow, Sarah Wairimu, permission to attend the burial ceremony, which had been agreed upon by both Cohen's siblings and the widow.
Interestingly, Cohen's sister Gabrielle Van Straten and her husband Roy jetted out of the country on Saturday, September 21, a day after her brother's will was opened, with Gabrielle being the biggest beneficiary in the late billionaire's will.
