On September 21, 2019, a 13-year-old girl in Molo, Nakuru County, made the devastating decision to end her life after being punished by her father.

According to reports, the girl had spent the night at her neighbors' house without informing her parents beforehand, and when she returned home on Saturday morning, she was met with angry parents demanding explanations.

Her father, reportedly the head of the home, gave her enough discipline to discourage her from repeating the mistake and later left for their farm.

However, when her parents returned from the farm, they found their daughter unresponsive in her room, and upon breaking down the door, they were met with a horrific sight of her frail remains.

This tragic incident is not an isolated case, as there have been several instances of minors taking their lives due to slight provocation from their elders.

It remains unclear whether the rising teenage suicide is a disaster in waiting or a lack of moral support from parents, but it is undoubtedly a call for action.
