On September 23, 2019, the burial of Tob Cohen was unexpectedly postponed, despite preparations being underway.

According to reports, only eight Jewish priests were found, which is short of the required ten.

The burial was initially scheduled to take place at a Jewish cemetery in Nairobi, but it has now been rescheduled for September 24, 2019.

His wife, Sarah Wairimu, who is a suspect in Cohen's murder, had been granted permission by the court to attend the burial on September 23, 2019, at 2:30 pm.

Nation reported that the burial was postponed due to a lack of enough Jewish priests to conduct the ceremony.
