On September 23, 2019, a devastating incident shook the nation when a classroom collapsed at Precious Talent Top School in Nairobi, claiming the lives of seven pupils and leaving 64 others injured.

Two of the injured pupils were in critical condition at Kenyatta National Hospital, having sustained head and lung injuries.

As news of the tragedy spread, Kenyans took to social media to offer condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured pupils a speedy recovery.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was in the United States at the time, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the affected children.

"My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to families of the children affected by the tragedy at Precious Talent Academy in Dagoretti. Our agencies are taking urgent actions to contain the situation and alleviate further suffering," President Kenyatta tweeted.

Deputy President William Ruto also wished the injured students a quick recovery and called for the creation of safe spaces for children to learn.

Nairobi Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, described the incident as "utterly unacceptable" and called for a full investigation into the cause of the tragedy.

Renowned Kenyan celebrities and public figures also offered their condolences to the affected families.
