On September 23, 2019, the burial of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen was supposed to take place at the Jewish Cemetery in Nairobi, but it was postponed to Tuesday due to a lack of enough Jewish priests.

According to the burial planners, they only managed to secure eight Jewish priests, short of the required 10, leading to the decision to postpone the burial.

High Court Judge Stella Mutuku had ordered that Cohen's widow, Sarah Wairimu, be escorted to the cemetery to attend the burial, which was to be a private ceremony attended by a few family members.

The media was barred from the event, but Cohen's brother, Robert Cohen, and his lawyer, Danstan Omari, were in attendance.
