On September 22, 2019, at a rally in Kayole, Starehe MP Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, requested permission to confront Embakasi East MP Babu Owino in parliament over comments he made about disrespecting Deputy President William Ruto.

According to Jaguar, Owino has been making reckless statements about DP Ruto and this will not be tolerated.

"Honorable Deputy President, there is a young man called Babu Owino who recently insulted you. I request your permission to deal with him," Jaguar said during the rally attended by Ruto.

It is worth noting that Jaguar had previously clashed with Owino over comments he made about disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On the other hand, Babu Owino has been vocal about the need for DP Ruto to respect Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition party ODM.

"Ruto must respect Baba (Raila)," Owino said during a campaign rally in Kibra.
