On September 23, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at Precious Talent School in Dagoretti South, where classrooms collapsed, injuring students.
Rescuers rushed to the scene, and the affected students were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for treatment.
KNH acting CEO Dr. Kamari has provided an update on the condition of the students, stating that while two are relatively critical, most are okay.
Dr. Kamari added that the students have undergone CT scans, x-rays, and have been examined by specialized surgeons, and are now being fed.
According to hospital management, there are 64 students admitted at KNH, with more admitted in other hospitals, including Mediheal-Kawangware, Mbagathi, and a hospital in Satellite.
Parents of the affected students are being kept informed about the condition of their children, and those who do not hear their child's name at KNH have been arranged to be transported to the other hospitals.
Rescue missions are still ongoing at the site of the collapsed classrooms, and some parents have already arrived at Chiromo mortuary to identify the remains of their children.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 am, bringing learning to a standstill.
