On September 23, 2019, the High Court in Nairobi directed that Sarah Wairimu be allowed to attend the burial of her late husband Tob Cohen.
The burial, which had been marred by controversy, was set for 2pm at the Jewish cemetery in Nairobi.
However, Gabrielle Van Straten, Tob Cohen's sister, would not be attending the burial despite being at the forefront of the funeral arrangements.
According to her lawyer, Cliff Ombeta, Gabrielle had already completed her stay in the country and had to return to her home in the Netherlands due to personal reasons.
Earlier, there was a dispute over the funeral modalities, with both Gabrielle and Wairimu claiming the right to bury the deceased billionaire.
But the two parties eventually reached an agreement, with their lawyers announcing that Sarah and Gabrielle would both take part in the family-members-only burial.
