On September 23, 2019, a devastating collapse at Precious Talent Primary School in Dagoretti, Nairobi, left 7 students dead and 64 others injured.
Education Minister Prof George Magoha has since ordered the school's closure, citing the severity of the incident.
According to Magoha, the school had a student population of 800 before the collapse, with 600 students identified as having been present at the time of the incident.
Magoha has also confirmed that the condition of many of the injured students remains critical.
"We have asked students to stay home for four days while we investigate and ensure their safety," Magoha said.
