On Sunday, September 22, Arsenal nearly suffered a shock defeat to Aston Villa in a Premier League clash at the Emirates. However, thanks to a dramatic comeback, the Gunners secured a 3-2 win over the newly-promoted side.
John McGinn fired Dean Smith's side into the lead in the 20th minute, and the Gunners looked destined for a defeat, playing the entirety of the second half a man less.
But in the 59th minute, Aston Villa conceded a penalty, and Nicolas Pepe, who had been under scrutiny from Unai Emery, stepped up to slot home his first goal for the club.
Unai Emery later revealed that it was Aubameyang's decision to hand the penalty duties to Pepe, praising the striker's selfless act.
Goals from Chambers and Aubameyang late in the second half cancelled out Wesley and McGinn's goals to seal the win at the Emirates.
With the win, Arsenal now occupy fourth position with 11 points.
