Seven Pupils Killed in Dagoretti Classroom Collapse

On September 23, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at Precious Talent Academy in Nairobi's Dagoretti area when a classroom wall collapsed, resulting in the deaths of seven pupils and injuring several others.

The tragic incident happened at around 6:45 am when the students were preparing to commence their studies. Initial reports had put the death toll at two, but it was later confirmed that seven pupils had lost their lives.

Majority of the injuries sustained by the pupils were cuts and fractures. The Nairobi County Fire Engine Department, St John's Ambulance, and Red Cross were at the scene working with the locals to rescue those trapped in the rubble.

The Permanent Secretary of Education, Belio Kipsang, was present at the scene and was expected to address the press.

Kenya Red Cross and @EMS_Kenya response teams were also at the scene, providing assistance.
