On September 23, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at Precious Talent School in Ng'ando area along Ngong road, Nairobi, when a classroom wall collapsed, killing six pupils and injuring several others.
The tragic incident happened at around 6:45 am when the students were preparing to commence their studies. The Nairobi County Fire Engine Department and Red Cross group were at the scene, working in tandem with the locals to break down the wreckage and save the children trapped inside.
Majority of the injuries sustained by the pupils were cuts due to the walls made of iron sheets. The Permanent Secretary of Education, Richard Belio Kipsang, was at the scene and later addressed the press after assessing the situation.
