Published on September 23, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at the Precious Talent School in Nairobi, where a classroom collapse resulted in the deaths of seven pupils.
On Monday morning, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie made a dramatic return to his constituency, arriving in a fuel-guzzling Toyota V8, in an apparent attempt to show his constituents that he was with them in their time of tragedy.
However, his efforts were met with anger and rejection as the public could not entertain his 'crocodile tears.' The residents chased him away, and he ran for his life.
According to St John's Ambulance Communications manager Fred Majiwa, four pupils had succumbed to their injuries at a local dispensary, while two more had been retrieved from the rubble.
The rescue teams had managed to comb through all the rubble, but would provide a detailed update later.
Dagoretti South Police Commander stated that the school was constructed using timber and iron sheet on top of an old building, which could not sustain the weight.
As bodies were being removed from the rubble, parents who had reached the scene were seen wailing in grief.
