On September 21, 2019, a class seven girl in Molo, Nakuru County, tragically took her own life.
According to reports, the 13-year-old girl had spent the night away from home without seeking permission, leaving her school on Friday.
Her father, upon learning of her absence, reprimanded and beat her before leaving for the farm.
The girl locked herself in her room, where she remained until noon when her father returned and found the room still locked from inside.
When she failed to respond to several calls, her father broke into the room and found her hanging.
Area Assistant Chief Caroline Chebet confirmed the incident, and the girl's body was taken to Molo Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
