On Saturday, a 23-year-old man from Nyeri, Kenya, found himself in a precarious situation after stealing five chickens from his grandmother's home.
According to eyewitnesses, the man, identified as Chege, sneaked into his grandmother's home after learning that she had traveled to Nairobi.
He then proceeded to the poultry yard and made away with the five chickens, intending to sell them at the local market.
A neighbour who witnessed the incident claimed that he thought Chege had permission to take the chickens because he is a member of the family.
However, the neighbour soon realized that something was amiss when Chege mysteriously collapsed at the market.
Members of the public tried to calm him down, but Chege fell unconscious moments later.
His grandmother was informed about the incident and expressed shock that her grandson was the one stealing from her poultry yard, which she uses to school him.
She had previously secured a pill from a native doctor, Ndumba wa Ndumba, to protect her property from intruders.
