Emilia Clarke Channels Jennifer Lopez at the 2019 Emmys ¶
At the 2019 Emmy Awards, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke made a stunning entrance on the red carpet in a low-cut navy Valentino gown. But what caught everyone's attention was the inspiration behind her dress - none other than Jennifer Lopez.
Before heading to the awards show, Emilia took to Instagram to give J.Lo a 'heads up' that she had been inspired by her iconic 2000 Grammy Awards Versace dress. The actress captioned the post, '@jlo just as heads up you have inspired this year's lewk.?♀️.'
Emilia's gown appears to be an homage to J.Lo's iconic green Versace dress, with some obvious differences in pattern, material opacity, and sleeve-length. However, the overall style of the dress is remarkably similar.
Interestingly, Jennifer Lopez recently walked Milan Fashion Week in an updated version of the same dress in the Versace 2020 fashion show. Emilia's dress looks arguably even more like the updated version, thanks to its sleeveless design.

In the video, Emilia gushed about Jennifer's performance as Ramona in Hustlers, calling it 'the greatest introduction of a character I've ever seen.'
Then, she went on to say, 'J.Lo is my inspiration for this evening. I plan on channeling her all night long.'
