Published on September 23, 2019, a new survey by the InterNations Business Solutions Group has ranked countries according to the quality of life, ease of settling in, personal finance, family life, and career prospects.
Kenya rose to position 36 in the overall ranking from 51 in 2018, thanks to improved political stability following the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
On leisure options, Kenya was ranked 12 out of 64 countries and 18 on the personal happiness index. The country also did well on the ease of making friends, putting it eighth out of 64 countries.
However, Kenya ranked poorly in safety and security, economy, and job security prospects, indicating shaky economic growth prospects and a low likelihood of retaining one's job.
The country is battling corruption and heavy debt with a huge public wage bill, which has seen the Government raise taxes across the board.
