Published on September 22, 2019, a Deloitte survey titled Global Mobile Consumer Survey - The Kenyan Cut, reveals that Chinese smartphone brands have dominated the Kenyan market.

The survey puts Techno at the top with a vendor market share of 20 per cent, followed closely by Samsung with 18 per cent, Infinix with 15 per cent, Huawei with 9 per cent, Apple with 10 per cent, and Oppo with 8 per cent.

As more consumers go online, e-commerce websites continue to spring up, intensifying competition and driving an increase in online smartphone sales.

The rise of the smartphone continues to accelerate, with Kenya ranking among the leading global adopters, putting pressure on businesses to transform their service delivery to a mobile-first experience.

The Deloitte survey, which covers 6 continents, 35 countries, and over 54,000 respondents, highlights the changing consumer behavior and trends in the wireless and mobility products and services market.
