On September 22, 2019, Jubilee leaders gathered in Embu and Nairobi Counties to reaffirm their commitment to implementing the party's development agenda.
Deputy President William Ruto was present at the gatherings, where the leaders emphasized their focus on addressing the needs of the people.
MP Kimani Ichungwa stated, 'We do not have time for insults. As Jubilee party, we do not want to engage in bad politics; we would only engage in politics of development.'
MP Charles Kanyi urged Jubilee leaders not to fall into the trap of Opposition politics, which he described as being informed by disrespect and the use of abusive language.
During the gatherings, Deputy President Ruto highlighted the Jubilee administration's commitment to delivering its promises to the people.
He emphasized the need for unity and diligence in pushing forward the interests of the people, stating, 'Right now, we are not talking politics. The time for politics would come. For now, we want everyone to focus on their job.'
Deputy President Ruto also announced plans to spend Sh4 billion on road construction in Eastlands and Ksh1.2 billion on a water pipeline to supply the commodity in the area.
Ms Milicent Omanga expressed the opposition of Nairobi County residents to any constitutional amendment that would burden them, stating, 'There are people who want to burden Kenyans with changes in the constitution. We will oppose the move unless it adds value to the people.'
