West Ham United secured a convincing 2-0 win over Manchester United at London Stadium on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a couple of changes to the side that secured a 1-0 win over Astana in the Europa League, with Mason Greenwood failing to make the London trip.
David de Gea, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all returned to the regular lineup, but the changes could not save the Red Devils from an embarrassing defeat.
West Ham took the lead in the 44th minute via Andriy Yarmolenko, who scored with a left-footed shot into the far corner.
Man United nearly equalized in the second half, but West Ham survived advances from Marcus Rashford and Daniel James.
With Rashford forced out of the game in the 68th minute due to an injury, Jesse Lingard made little impact.
West Ham's efforts were rewarded in the dying minutes of the clash, with Aaron Cresswell scoring a sensational freekick in the 84th minute to seal the win.
The defeat leaves Man United sitting eighth on the Premier League standings with eight points.
