Published on September 22, 2019, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has brushed off speculation linking Jose Mourinho with his job at the club.
Following a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on September 18, Zidane's position at the Santiago Bernabeu has come under intense scrutiny.
However, the Frenchman has insisted he is unfazed by the rumors, stating, "It doesn't annoy me that his name is linked, that's how it is. I don't have to say if it annoys me or not, that's the situation," as quoted by UK Metro.
Despite the pressure, Zidane has maintained his focus on the job, saying, "Here, you lose a game and you have to change something. It's difficult, but that's the reality," in a bid to deliver results for the club.
It's worth noting that Zidane only returned to Madrid in March, having initially stepped down at the end of May last year.
He has already made significant signings, including Eden Hazard, in a bid to revamp his squad.
Jose Mourinho has previously denied any interest in returning to the La Liga giants, but Zidane's comments suggest he is not letting the speculation get to him.
