Ruto Challenges Raila to Address ODM's Internal Issues Before 2022 Elections ¶
Deputy President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to pray for Raila Odinga, saying he has many challenges to address before the 2022 elections.
Speaking in Embu on September 21, 2019, Ruto said Raila's party, ODM, has internal issues that need to be addressed before he can think of winning the presidency in 2022.
"Eti huyu mtu wa kitendawili anatuambia vile sisi tutaendesha Jubilee ilhali ODM yake iko na matatizo," Ruto said, urging Kenyans to pray for Raila to address his party's internal issues.
Ruto also accused Raila of trying to sabotage Jubilee's chances of winning the 2022 elections by trying to divide the party.
"Anajaribu kuvunja Jubilee akifikiria ati akifanya hivyo atashinda urais. Nataka nimwambia Jubilee imeundwa kwenye msingi dhabiti," Ruto said.
He also reminded Kenyans that Raila's party, ODM, has a history of failing to win elections, citing the 2007 general elections where Raila's party lost.
