Winnie Odinga, the last born daughter of ODM leader Raila Odinga, has sparked a heated debate on social media with her proposal to rename Nairobi estates.

On Saturday, Ms Odinga tweeted that estate names in the city should be changed to reflect the daily pressures and realities, suggesting names like Corruption Money Paradise, Choke Smoke, and School Bus Itakuamsha 5 Villas.

“Nairobi estates should really start changing their names to reflect what they actually are. No more skyview, bluesky, greenfields, mountain view etc. It should be “traffic jam gardens” “Corruption money paradise” “Choke Smoke suites” “school bus itakuamsha 5 villas” na kadhalika,” tweeted Winnie Odinga.

Her proposal was met with mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, with some suggesting befitting names like Septic Tank Lowrise, Grabbed Land Apartments, and Arror and Kimwarer Gatted Community.

“I suppose you live in Handshake gardens,” tweeted Oscar Omondi, while Ian Ndichu suggested Tibim Gardens.

“BBI apartments, blue band initiative estate, saidia baba initiative vilas kitendawili heights, handshake estate, hakuna choo, na kadhakika…,” tweeted dantorish.

“Are you suggesting we call Kibra 'flying toilets view'?” tweeted Sir Yona.
