On September 15, 2019, the Nairobi Polo Club witnessed an intense match between White Cap Lite and Samurai in the White Cap Kenya International Polo Championships. The match ended in a thrilling 7.5-7 victory for White Cap Lite, leaving Samurai's title hopes in jeopardy.
White Cap Lite, led by South African Duncan Watson and the Kenyan trio of Archie Voorspuy, Izzy Parsons, and Mbu Ngugi, started the match with a slight advantage. They capitalized on this advantage to score crucial goals, with Watson contributing three, Parsons scoring two, and Ngugi netting two goals in the four chukkas.
White Cap Lite's win against Samurai must have boosted their morale, especially after their opening match loss to White Cap on Friday. In that match, White Cap Lite scored six goals through Watson and one by Parsons, while White Cap secured ten goals through Casmir Gross, Tarquin Gross, Ben Stomewigg, and Briton Gareth Evans.
Samurai, who had started the title contest on a winning note, scored their goals through Tom De Bruins, Jules Camm, Hansi Bruins, and Raphael Nzomo in the match against White Cap Lite.
