Former NTV Journalist Catherine Gicheru Joins Reuters Institute Advisory Board

September 21, 2019 - Reuters has appointed Catherine Gicheru, a former NTV journalist, to its advisory board. Gicheru joins seven other esteemed individuals in furthering the institute's research and fundraising activities.

With a distinguished career spanning multiple media houses, Gicheru has excelled in journalism, policy making, academia, and business. She sharpened her skills at Nation Media Group, becoming the first female news editor and first female bureau chief at the Aga-Khan-owned media house.

Before transitioning to the Reuters Institute, Gicheru was the pioneer editor of The Star newspaper. She later took on the role of Journalist Fellow at the Reuters Institute from 2013 to 2014.

Currently, Gicheru works at Code for Africa's Academy and Communities Program.
