On September 21st, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the widow of Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen, filed a certificate of urgency with the high court seeking orders to attend her husband's burial.
The burial ceremony, scheduled for September 23rd at the Jewish Cemetery on Wangari Maathai road, is expected to be a private family affair, conducted according to Jewish rights.
Wairimu, who is currently locked up at the Langata women prison, is pleading with the court to issue a production order and allow her to be escorted to the cemetery for the burial.
According to her lawyers, the burial ceremony will be a private family affair, and it is essential that she is present to ensure that her husband receives a dignified send-off.
Wairimu is the main suspect in the death of Cohen, and she is expected to be charged with murder on Thursday next week after undergoing a mental examination as directed by the court.
