On September 15, 2019, the Nairobi Polo Club witnessed an exciting match between Samurai and Toyota in the White Cap Kenya International Polo Championships.
Samurai, consisting of South African Tom De Bruins (6), Tanzanian Hansi Bruins (3.5), Raphael Nzomo (2.5) of Kenya, and Jules Camm (2.5) of Kenya, emerged victorious with a score of 9-6.
Tom De Bruins led the team with five goals, while Hansi Bruins and Raphael Nzomo each scored a double in the four chukkas.
The tournament, played in a round-robin format, is a significant event for the players, who had participated in the 6-Goal Nairobi International Championships just last weekend.
With their opening win, Samurai takes the lead in the table standings with three points and aims to secure the title by winning their next two matches, according to Raphael Nzomo.
Samurai will face White Cap Lite in their second match at 1:30 pm, while Toyota will play against White Cap at 4 pm.
