Kenya Rugby Union Vice Chairman Thomas Opiyo has confirmed that the South Africa national team, known as the Blitzboks, will be sending their top players to the Safari Sevens tournament.
The three-day event, scheduled for October 18-20 at the RFUEA grounds, will also feature reigning Africa Sevens champions Zimbabwe, Uganda, Zambia, and Russia Academy.
South African clubs Western Province and Blue Bulls, as well as French club Seventise Rugby and Narvskaya Zastava from Russia, will also be participating in the tournament.
Kenya will be represented by two teams, Shujaa and Morans, while local Sevens Circuit champions KCB have also landed an invite.
Defending champions Samurai Select and Red Wailers are the other teams that have confirmed participation.
According to Opiyo, they are waiting for feedback from four more teams, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Burundi before conducting the tournament draw.
