On 20 September 2019, the siblings of murdered city tycoon Tob Cohen gathered at a lawyer's office in Nairobi to open his will. The event was a private affair, but Sarah Wairimu, Cohen's widow, and her lawyer Philip Murgor failed to show up.

Lawyer Chege Kirundi, who was the custodian of Cohen's will, unveiled the sealed document after waiting in vain for Murgor to arrive. The will revealed that Cohen had left his Ksh400 million matrimonial home to his sister Gabrielle Van Straten and her children.

According to the will, 50% of Cohen's estate was given to Gabrielle, 25% to his nieces, and the remaining 25% to his elder brother Bernard Cohen. The siblings will also share a significant portion of Cohen's Ksh150 million in bank accounts.

Lawyer Kirundi assured the press that the will had not been tampered with, as had been alleged in some quarters. The development has left Sarah Wairimu in denial, with her name not featuring in the will.
