On 20 September, Deputy President William Ruto announced that he would continue touring Kenya, claiming it was part of his job to monitor government projects nationwide.

The statement came after Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho cautioned Ruto against causing confusion in Kirinyaga County.

According to Kibicho, Ruto was disrespecting the President by taking advantage of government projects to tour the country, despite being told to stop 'kutangatanga'.

However, Ruto dismissed the claims, stating that he was the right-hand man to President Uhuru Kenyatta and would not stop touring Kenya since it was his duty to inspect government projects.

During a visit to Dandora's Tom Mboya School, Ruto donated Ksh1.5 million for sewer lines replacement and promised to replace worn-out roofs and construct a new kitchen, claiming it was his work to ensure all government projects were in good condition.

Ruto also emphasized the importance of sufficient water supply for economic growth and encouraged youths to take advantage of government bursaries to access education.
