Ulinzi Stars coach Benjamin Nyangweso has warned his players to be wary of a tactical Mathare United side as the two sides battle it out today in Machakos in the third week of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
Mathare United, who have had a tough start to the season since coach Francis Kimanzi left, will be under pressure to pick their first win of the season. The Slum Boys have shown resilience, however, fighting back last weekend to get a point with an injury time strike after Tusker had taken the lead via a controversial penalty.
Ulinzi Stars, on the other hand, have one win from two matches and Nyangweso says he hopes to make it two wins when they take on a winless Mathare United side today. He praised his striker Enosh Ochieng, KPL joint top scorer, who has started the season with two goals to his name.
“It has been a tough season so far and we will be grateful to get a win. Our opponents are always very tactical and have young players who are always running and so we have to be wary of this,” Nyangweso said.
Elsewhere, Wazito, who have been dubbed Kenya’s Manchester City because of the amount they spent in the transfer window, are at Bukhungu Stadium this afternoon to take on AFC Leopards with both teams seeking their first win of the season.
