Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, accused of murdering her Dutch husband Tob Cohen, has applied to attend his burial.
Ms Kamotho, who is currently being held at Lang'ata Women's Prison, filed an application at the High Court seeking orders to compel the prison authorities to allow her to send off her estranged husband.
Her lawyer, Philip Murgor, stated in the application that Ms Kamotho wants to participate in the burial rites of her late husband.
"We urge this court to issue a production order to the OC Lang'ata Women's Prison to produce and escort Sarah Wairimu to the Jewish Cemetery on September 23, 2019 at 1.30pm to attend the funeral of Tob Cohen," Mr Murgor said.
Ms Kamotho is awaiting to plead to a charge of murdering her husband on September 26.
Interestingly, the family of the deceased, represented by lawyer Cliff Ombeta, has not opposed her attendance, and neither has the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji.
