On September 20, 2019, the Cameroon ministry of sports made a significant announcement in the world of football. The ministry appointed Antonio Conceicao da Silva Oliveira, known as Toni Conceicao, as the new head coach of the national football team, the Indomitable Lions.
Conceicao, a 57-year-old former Portuguese footballer, will be assisted by Francois Omam Biyick, a former Cameroon national team player. Jacques Songo'o, a legendary figure in Cameroon football, will serve as the goalkeepers trainer.
The appointment comes after the departure of Dutchman Clarence Seedorf, who was fired following the Indomitable Lions' elimination in the second round of the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
