On September 20, 2019, Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism found himself in hot water after being accused of exposing a church member's private parts in public.
According to the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK), Ng'ang'a was warned against broadcasting the incident, but he went ahead and did it anyway.
CAK has since fined Ng'ang'a KSh 1 million for violating their broadcasting regulations.
Ng'ang'a has since responded to the allegations, claiming that he was not aware that he was broadcasting the church member's private parts.
"I was not aware that I was broadcasting the church member's private parts. I was doing a deliverance service and I was not aware that I was being recorded," Ng'ang'a said in a statement.
Ng'ang'a also claimed that the CAK had given him permission to broadcast the incident, but later retracted their statement.
"I was told that I would be fined KSh 1 million if I appealed the decision. I was also told that I would be given a chance to appeal, but I was not given any further instructions," Ng'ang'a said.
Ng'ang'a's actions have sparked outrage among Kenyans, with many calling for him to be held accountable for his actions.
